Today was the first official day of the diet.
Searching for all organic foods in a busy grocery store is exhausting!
Not to mention finding things like, rice vinegar, brewer's yeast, flax
oil, and bone broth...Yikes!
We made it home safe and sound, but didn't find "bone broth".
If anyone knows where we can find that please let us know :)
As I continue reading Terry L. Wahl's book, "Minding My Mitochondria",
I've come to a great realization.
If eating a healthy diet got a woman out of her wheelchair and walking...
Just image what it could do for someone that doesn't have a debilitating disease.
Nutrition is everything.
Let's put weight loss aside for a minute. This diet is not about getting a Victoria Secret body, it's simply about getting healthy.
Everything we eat effects us, whether we think so or not, that's just the facts.
Many people think eating healthy is a hassle and tastes disgusting.
Well this isn't a fairy tale people, it's real life. Any healthy life style is going to be hard to start because you are still learning the rules and getting used to new tastes.
But with anything we learn, once we know the rules we can begin to use our creativity and break a few. I'm not talking about eating bad, it's all about knowing what foods you should eat and playing with them.
Create your own meals, combine elements, try something new,
but NEVER give up.
Below is a grocery list my mom and I compiled from Terry's book,"Minding My Mitochondria". All the foods on the list are mentioned in the book (we are not limited to this list though) . We did not get everything on the list, but this will give you an idea of what we are working with.
Have a nice day!
